“In Codey, I’ve found someone who shares both my concerns about the industry’s pitfalls and my passion for helping people avoid those common mistakes. Codey and I both believe that putting in place important solid early financial foundations is paramount for successful people to look forward to a bright and prosperous future.”

David Jones

David brings to Mount Stuart that extra special knowledge and experience from the sporting industry to enable us to deliver our Sports Select offering.

As a popular, well-established sports TV presenter for one of the UK’s biggest networks, David has been covering live Premier League football matches for over a decade and has worked as a broadcaster for almost 30 years.

David grew up in North Yorkshire and started his career as a news reporter for the Derbyshire Times and since then his career has gone from strength to strength.

As well as being in the media spotlight, David is currently the longest serving board member of his beloved Sunderland AFC having been appointed as a Non-Executive Director in 2019. He previously held a position on the board of Oxford United FC.

David is also an enthusiastic sportsman himself "Sport has been my passion from as soon as I could walk and I played non-stop sport as a kid: rugby, cricket, football, athletics, golf. Whatever it was, I was doing it, and nothing much has changed since!”

In recent years David has used his extensive contacts in the world of sport to help raise funds for Blood Cancer UK and his annual golf day is fast becoming one of the most popular on the circuit - since its launch in 2021 David has raised over £400,000 for the charity.

Married to Julie, they have a teenage son Oskar and live in London. When David isn’t working or on the golf course, the family enjoy spending leisurely time together on long walks and pub lunches with their mischievous beagle Rocco.

On collaborating with Mount Stuart, David said: “Through my association with football and footballers, I’ve long been aware of the many perils that young sports people face taking their first steps in the world of finance. Every week it seems there is a story in the press about some ill-fated investment scheme or “get rich quick” plan that have left the victims counting the cost.”
