Gareth Davies - Consultant
Gareth brings a wealth of experience to Mount Stuart through his impressive sporting and professional career which adds a different dynamic and new opportunities to our business.
Gareth has held many executive positions, including Chairman of the Welsh Rugby Union, Director of the Rugby World Cup, Board member of the Rugby World Cup, Six Nations and British and Irish Lions.
He is also a former Dean of Leeds Metropolitan University as well as having lived in Australia, where he was Head of the Welsh Assembly Government for Australia and New Zealand.
In addition, Gareth is a former Chairman of the Sports Council for Wales, Head of Sport BBC Wales and Commissioning Editor for Sports and Events at the Welsh TV Company S4C.
Gareth began his rugby career with Llanelli, retiring from the sport after 12 seasons at Cardiff and gaining 21 Welsh caps. He captained Wales five times and represented the British Lions team who toured South Africa in1980.
Gareth is married to Fiona and has two daughters; Kathryn, a doctor and Lowri, a teacher.
Gareth holds several honorary degrees, including doctorates from the University of South Wales and Cardiff Metropolitan University.
